Eight beautiful faces and impressive intellects claimed fame during the most prestigious pageant highlighting the 63rd founding anniversary of the Divine Word College of Calapan at the DWCC Gymnasium, February 9.

Ms. Joan Marie Santos of the BSA Department proved what a beauty titlist must have as she was crowned and hailed Ms. DWCC 2009. She also secured the Best in Talent Award.

Beauty has indeed taken its toll that pageant night as it displayed more remarkable faces and wits. Ronalyn Aclan of the Basic Education Department and Catherine Alforo of the Education Department likewise sparkled when they were hailed first and second runners-up respectively. Aclan also grabbed the Best in Production Outfit and Best in Filipiniana Attire. Meanwhile, Alforo was chosen as Photographer’s Choice, Ms. Photogenic and Best in School Uniform.

Moreover, notable faces were Pinky Rojas of the BSBA Department, Princess of Faith; Judy Carol Bataluna of AB Department, Princess of Wisdom; Imee Ramirez of HTO Department, Princess of Love; Lougene Valencia of the Computer Studies Department, Princess of Prosperity; and Shiela Marie Moratin of Engineering Department, Princess of Hope, respectively.

The board of judges was composed of Dr. Florida C. Leuterio, Ms. Luzviminda Cardiño, Mrs. Rosemarie de Leon-Ferrer, Mr. Joey B. Gutierrez, Mrs. Jocelyn Muli-Marcos, Mr. Voltaire Brucal and Fr. Bernhard Abrazado, SVD.

The event was made possible through the initiative of the Student Affairs Office, in cooperation with the Student Council and the eight departments. Ms. Joanne Catherina A. Perez, Ms. DWCC 2006 and Mr. Leiffrey Gargullo were the Masters of Ceremony.
