





On November 20, 2024, the Divine Word College of Calapan (DWCC) hosted a landmark eventโthe formal signing of Memoranda of Agreement (MOA) with its partner Local Government Units (LGUs) and community representatives. Held at the DWCC Main Campus, the event marked a significant step in fostering collaboration and ensuring the sustainability of DWCCโs institutional community extension service programs.
Leading the ceremony was DWCC President, Fr. Renato A. Tampol, SVD, PhD, who reaffirmed the institutionโs commitment to transformative education and community empowerment through strategic partnerships. Joining him was CES Director, Fr. Ross P. Heruela, SVD, who underscored the importance of aligning the schoolโs mission with community development goals.
The first MOA was signed between DWCC and Barangay Pachoca, Calapan City, represented by its Chairman, Mr. Juanito Alveyra. This partnership focuses on the program โ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ, ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐, ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐: ๐ ๐ผ๐น๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐๐ผ๐บ๐บ๐๐ป๐ถ๐๐ ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ผ๐ฝ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐โ, which aims to nurture future leaders through the holistic development of indigent public-school children within the vicinity of DWCCโs Basic Education Campus.
A similar agreement was formalized with Barangay Tibag, Calapan City, represented by its Chairman, Mr. Ferdinand Evora, also centering on the โ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ, ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐, ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐โ initiative.
Additionally, DWCC extended its community outreach by signing an agreement with Sitio Paraiso, Barangay Concepcion, Victoria, one of its adopted Mangyan communities. Represented by its Chairman, Mr. Augusto Balenton, this collaboration focuses on the โ๐ช๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ๐ป๐ด ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ๐ป: ๐๐๐ถ๐น๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ด๐๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ผ๐บ๐บ๐๐ป๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐โ program. The initiative seeks to empower the Mangyan community through inclusive development, cultural sensitivity, and projects promoting self-sufficiency and sustainable growth.
The event highlighted DWCCโs unwavering commitment to its mission of service, solidarity, and community engagement, reinforcing its role as a catalyst for transformative change in Oriental Mindoro.
